Mr John Graham, son of Mr and Mrs A. K. Graham, corner of James and Winter Street, who has returned to Gisborne after hitch-hiking around the world. John left in 1960 to attend a Y.M.C.A. conference in Holland. He is pictured with his pack on which are marked the many different countries he has visited.

Baby Goldsmith, the winning entry in the Tawhiti Maori Women's Welfare League baby contest, which raised £1500 for a hospital cottage at Te Puia Springs, with Miss Kura Beale, patroness of the league, who crowned the winner.
