Dazzling Tennis

A large crowd in the Y.M.C.A. Stadium was treated to a dazzling display of tennis when the four-man professional troupe of Ken Rosewall, Lew Hoad, Rod Laver, and Mal Anderson visited Gisborne.

The wooden indoor court, combined with the powerful play of the professionals, made for tremendously fast play in the three matches.

In the singles matches, experienced Lew Hoad had a comfortable win over the younger Mal Anderson, and in brilliant style, Rod Laver trounced Ken Rosewall.

The doubles was won by Laver and Anderson after a spirited tussle with their formidable opponents.
