The Changing Face of Gisborne City

The majority of the new sealed runway at Darton Field has now been completed, leaving only the taxiway to the terminal building as the major work to be done. A lodestar topdressing aircraft is pictured crossing the new runway while taking off.

The impressive new Morman chapel in Upper Stout Street is now rapidly taking shape. Built of concrete blocks manufactured at the Morman centre at Temple View, Hamilton, the building is to be completed by September.
