Tennis Tournament

The Poverty Bay-East Coast Lawn Tennis Association's Anniversary Day tournament, which was held at the Association's courts in Childers Road in fine weather, drew a large entry of young players.

The annual mother-and-son, father-and-daughter competition was once again a keenly contested section of the tourney, resulting in a win for Mrs Peter Sherratt and her son, Richard.

In a hard-fought final, B. Wehi defeated W. Roberts, to claim the men's singles title.
