Dazzling Badminton

A display of badminton at its best was seen at the Y.M.C.A. stadium on a recent Saturday night when the touring South African team of six met and defeated the North Island team by five rubbers to one.

Highlight of the night was the defeat of the South African top seed, international player David Powell of Johannesburg, by the brilliant New Zealand No 1, Richard Purser, of Auckland, in the men's singles event.
