Exciting School Rugby

In an exciting and entertaining game of rugby, dominated by a tremendous forward struggle, and punctuated with slashing back play, the visiting top grade Auckland school team, King's College, defeated Gisborne Boys' High for the first time, by eight points to six at Rugby Park.

A deserved win, the college team had the better of back play, penetrating the home defence on several occasions with sheer pace and expert teamwork. Gisborne's strength was in its forwards, and accordingly, tended to keep the game tight.

Star back of the day, G. J. Kerridge, paces it out with Alister Swann and Ian Moore in tow.

"Where to, now?" could well be the thought of the player in possession at right as a wall of defenders descends on him.
