Soccer Victory

In an exciting and entertaining game of soccer hard-fought from start to finish, Eastern Union deservingly defeated the Auckland top grade Eastern Suburbs team by two goals to one, at the Childers Road Reserve before a crowd of approximately 600.

Stars of the game were the Union left back, Ronnie Gillies, whose skilful covering defence on several occasions saved the day, and the Suburbs goalie, Tom Goeghegan, who made some miraculous saves in the face of Union onslaughts.
