Boxing Trials

A fine display by Gisborne's boxing twins, Peter and Paul Lister, earned them a place in the New Zealand team to visit Australia. The Opera House was filled to capacity when the trials took place late last month. Highlights of the bouts are shown on these two pages.

Paul Lister stops a blow on the jaw. It did little harm and he went on to win the bout. His opponent is Brian Maunsell, Timaru, former national lightwelter champion.
