"The Matchmaker"

Unity Theatre's winter production is Thornton Wilder's "The Matchmaker", a hilarious Victorian farce. Muriel Swindell is producer, and she has a strong cast of experienced actors. The play deals with a day in the life of a rich American widower. After leading his Lodge parade in the morning, he goes to New York to interview one or two prospective brides. These were chosen by a family friend who is herself determined to be the 2nd Mrs. Vandergelder, That's all we'll tell you here, but theatregoers can be sure of first-rate entertainment.

The play will be staged in the Opera House on August 14, 15 and 16.
