The Gisborne Photo News

2

The Editoris Corner

"Send a Friend a Photo News" is a line which we often print in these pages, mainly because, being human, we like an occasional pat on the back, and the heartiest pats come from people who don't live in Gisborne at all, but in distant parts, such as the Mainland (pardon our southern accent), or Australia, or Great Britain. Although most people who grow up in Gisborne are happy to stay here for the rest of their lives, there are many for whom circumstances dictate a home elsewhere. It is these exiles who are more enthusiastic about "Photo News" than anyone else. People like Bobbie Scott (now Mrs Jack Faras, of Broken Hill, New South Wales, whose picture appears in this issue) tell us they get a real thrill when the latest "Photo News" turns up in the mail. We are happy to think that "Photo News" is providing a link between old Gisbornians and the town they used to know so well, and that so many copies are being posted away to other parts of New Zealand and the world at large.

We hope our distant readers will always find "Photo News" as interesting as they now vouch it is. If any of them would like to practise a little reverse lend-lease, we would be happy to receive pictures and details so that their friends back here in Gisborne can see what they are doing.
