One of the biggest pigs ever killed at the Freezing Works, a Tamworth boar, weighed in at 620lbs. It was reared at the farm of Mr Matt McCullough, at Makauri, was unusually long in the loin, and had a heavy shield on the shoulders, after the fashion of a wild boar.
