Church Centenary At Manutuke
Last month, the Manutuke Holy Trinity Church celebrated its centenary.
To mark the occasion, Maori Anglicans from all over the Dominion attended the celebrations. Heading the dignitaries who attended was the Right Reverend W. Panapa, Bishop of Aotea-roa.
The agenda included sporting events, services, a ball, and a dinner.
Manutuke's oldest Anglican inhabitant, 96 years old Mrs Keita Nikora, assisted by the Bishop, cut the centennial cake. Prior to the concluding dinner, representatives from other districts gave donations towards the cost of the proceedings. Almost £300 was given in this way.
