Jim Wilkinson, of 10 Lyndhurst Street, with nephew Leading Stoker John Ford (right) and Stoker Jim McIlwaine of Glasgow. Their ship, Pacific Survey vessel H. M. S. Cook, berthed in Auckland for a few days so John took the opportunity to visit relatives in Gisborne. His home town is Manchester.
