Military Trainees

There were 12 trainees from this district in the last National Service call-up. All were good keen men in the pink of condition. In charge of the party was Corporal Jack Smith who travelled with them to Waiouru where they arrived at 10p.m. 14 hours after leaving Gisborne, Preliminary reports indicate that the boys are all doing well and enjoying their "holiday".
