Dragged from the Deep

This old-time anchor fouled the cable of the trawler Sea Harvest when she was at anchor in Hicks Bay. Her skipper thought it might have some historic value so transferred it to the Mercury Belle which put it ashore at Gisborne wharf. Seen here on the fluke is Maurie Davis. Its size and immovable stock place it at over 100 years old.
