Golden Jubilee Next Month

The golden jubilee of the Gisborne Savage Club to be celebrated during Queen's Birthday weekend should see a large influx of past members and Savages from other parts to join present members in what promises to be a memorable occasion.

The club was formed on May 19, 1913, and the first korero was held on June 19 of that year, when the attendance was 90 out of a membership of 111. The present membership is over 400, with a waiting list.

Two secretaries with long terms of office were Tom Adams, 1930-55 (left) and Charlie Adair, 1921-29 (right).
