Autumn Carnival

Du11 weather and rain during the preceding week affected the attendance at the A. and P. Association's Autumn Show. Even so, those who did go enjoyed entertainment of a very high standard. The varied events attracted numerous entrants, except for the Trotting Derby, which was carded as the highlight of the day's programme. Six of the Dominion's leading pacers and drivers provided the spectators with some thrilling finishes. A particularly versatile display in gymnastics was given by a mixed team from the Y.M.C.A. The calibre of acrobatics staged by these young people drew sustained applause.

In the canine section judges found it a difficult task selecting those worthy of laurels from among the exceptionally obedient and lordly named doggies. Pedigree-proud, they paraded without paying the slightest need to onlookers or one another. Those who attended the Show enjoyed it; for those who didn't go, these pictures help in showing what they missed.
