Roving Camera

The two pictures below show children trying their skill on the stalls at the highly successful gala held at Kaiti School. The prizes must be well worth having judging by the intense looks of concentration on their faces. New items at this year's gala were a Hangi and a Maori Arts stall which between them raised over £100. Good weather drew a large number of people who dug deeply into their pockets and so ensured replenishment of the School funds.

Irene Brinkley of 20 Anzac Street had the thrill of a lifetime when she opened her Mystery Envelope. The voucher entitled her to a watch from Mr J. Jennings, who is seen here passing it to Irene. The Mystery Envelope sales realised almost £2000 of the £3000 required by Jaycees for their coloured fountain.
