Free Kindergarten
Gisborne's new Free Kindergarten, housed in its handsome, well appointed building in Rutene Road, was in full swing when "Photo News" paid it a visit during its first operational week late last month.
Supervising the 20-odd children in their wide variety of activities were Miss M. Gallagher, the Free Kindergarten Association's pre-school supervisor from Wellington, Miss C. Pettitt, the Gisborne director, and her assistant, Miss R. Williams.
The modern building has been specially designed for its purpose, with large windows and open rooms giving the supervisors unrestricted vision of their happy young wards' activities.
