Exhibition Tennis

Five overseas tennis stars, who are at present making a tour of New Zealand, gave a series of exhibition matches before a gallery of about 700 at the P.B. Lawn Tennis Association's courts in Childers Road.

The team comprised the top. Australians Fred Stolle, Bob Hewitt, Ken Fletcher, and Miss Lealey Turner, Miss Elizabeth Starkie of England, and Ian Crookenden of New Zealand.

Played on a fast court in dry windy conditions, the games lasted four hours, and provided the spectators with an excellent display of court-manahlp.
