Compere's Capers

Spectators at the recent Golden Fleeco district finals, held in the Y.M.C.A. stadium, were treated to an item in marked contrast with the more serious all-shearing programme........that of pop singer Antoni Williams.

Antoni's swinging tunes proved too much for the show's compere, ace shearer Ian Bowen, of Te Puke, who broke out in ecstasies of self-styled twisting, the like of which hasn't been seen on the dance floor yet.

The stage manager David Steele joined the act, and chose for his partner a woolly sheep. They are pictured in action above.
