While holidaying with friends in Gisborne, Ian Jensen (right), of Wellington, had more than his share of luck with a fishing line. After catching a 16lb. kingfish in the Turanganui River by Wattle's outlet, he returned the following day, and pulled out this whopper, a 4ft., 34½lb. kingi. Also pictured is his friend, Donald Niven, Whitaker Street, and his brother, Peter.
This bat with a broken wing was found by Mrs F. Stafford on the lawn of her home at Pehiri.
Surfcaster T. O. Grady, 13 Grundy Street, caught this 3ft. 18lb. snapper at Stanley Road beach during the holidays. Pictured with it are his three children, Tom, Julie, and Corrine.
Katrina Patterson and Barrie Cook, both of Mill Road, found this giant albatross on Makarori Beach. It had a wing span of 9ft. 2in. and weighed 15lb.
