The Beach Races

A good crowd of country and town folk donned their sou-westers and oilskins and braved a biting southerly wind to attend the Poverty Bay Polo Club's day of beach races at Midway Beach.

Good entries were received for the seven races on the programme, and despite the unpleasant conditions, a good day was had by both competitors and spectators alike.
