"New Moon"

The Gisborne Amateur Operatic Society's jubilee year production of Sigmund Romberg's classic musical "New Moon", which is now nearing the end of its ambitious two-week season in the Opera House, has been an outstanding success since its grand premiere opening night on Saturday, 20th October.

An admirable effort, combining excellent lead players, a competent chorus, lavish costuming, and magnificent scenery, the show is one which the many thousands of patrons who attended it will not forget for a long time.

The sets and costumes for the show, which is produced by Joy Walton, were all made locally by the hard-working behind-the-sceners..... another admirable effort.
