Wool Board Fashion Show

A parade of all-woollen fashions, sponsored by the New Zealand Wool Board, attracted much attention from the 140 women who attended when it was staged at Ulverstone recently.

Organised and compered by Mrs Pat Stewart, the parade was highlighted by several creations designed for the board from New Zealand wool by overseas couturiers.

The parade's mannequins were on the same floor level as their audience, and paraded through and amongst them, enabling them to examine the costumes at close quarters.

The eight mannequins assembled on the stairs after the parade, are from left, top to bottom: Joan Coates, Dorothy Wale, "Mac" McCavana, Susan Friar, Di Field, Gail Robinson, Robin Strachan, and Julianne Nuttal.
