Municipal Elections
2 Candidates for Mayor: 15 for City Council

On Saturday, 13th October, municipal and other local authority elections will be held throughout New Zealand.

In Glsborne a contest for the Mayoralty will take place. The sitting Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker, who has held office for the past 12 years, will be opposed by Mr J. B. Williams, a city councillor and chairman of the Hospital Board.

Fourteen candidates for the city council have been nominated, of whom eleven are required, and as only six of the sitting councillors are seeking re-election, five new-comers are certain of a position.
