Lions' Gala Day

The Orange Grove motels in Childers Road, were the scene of a recent gala day organised by the Gisborne Lions Club to raise money for the Intellectually Handicapped children.

Unfortunately, the sun failed to shine for the event, but this did not dampen the spirits of the hundreds of people who attended, and of the countless number of children who derived endless hours of enjoyment from the extensively equipped playing area in the motel's spacious grounds.

An additional attraction was the opening for public inspection of several of the motel rooms, which proved of much interest to those present.
