N.Z. Boxing Champion
Fifteen-year-old Gisborne featherweight boxer, Michael Keefe, became the first New Zealand junior boxing champion, when he defeated the Nelson Golden Gloves title-holder, L. Braithwaite, of Southland, in the final bout of the national junior boxing championships held at Greyrmouth recently.
