Next winter, this view will often include top-grade Rugby fixtures, to be played on the field fronting the stand, which has been levelled and sown down in grass.

These scouts of the Hastings Red Shield Troop found Gisborne a pleasant place during their first week of the school holidays, when they were camped in the Salvation Army Hall and the weather vas "right out of the box". Troop was in the change of Scoutmaster P. McAlpine (left, back row) and Mr R. Lowe, a brother of the Everest climber.
