The Day the Rains Came

Earlier last week, while other parts of the Dominion were suffering from widespread flood and storm damage, Poverty Bay was enjoying near-perfect weather.

However, Gisborne came in for its share of bad weather in no uncertain manner when, for a period of less than 24 hours, it unleashed all its fury and lashed the district with 50 mph gale - force winds and over three inches of driving rain, causing minor flood and storm damage throughout the area.
