Mr Reed Goes Marching Through

Having walked from North Cape to the Bluff, Mr A. H. Reed, the 86-year-old author and publisher of Dunedin, came through Gisborne the weekend before last on his way from East Cape to Cape Egmont. Lean and fit in spite of his years, Mr Reed arrived in Gisborne to find about 200 people assembled to welcome him, and lost no time in renewing acquaintance with an old friend, Mr L. T. Burnard, with whom he stayed while here. After a day's rest, he continued on his way, heading south to Wairoa and Napier.

The veteran walker has a cheery wave for "Photo News" ("I don't know how you put it out at the price") as he leaves Gisborne.
