By the way these girls are taking to the deep blue sea, anyone would think there was a caveman after them with a club. But such was not the case when this picture was taken at Midway beach. The girls, members of the Gisborne Ladies and the Ohope Ladies surf life-saring clubs, were taking part in the surf race. Winner was Robin Mann (Gisborne), seen at right at the end of her swim.
