GISBORNE CITY

After a great season last year expectations for 1996 are high at Gisborne City Sports Club. Despite an unsettling period of uncertainty about coaching staff the young City side are buoyant with the experience and confidence to play attractive attacking football. In a pre season friendly series against high flying Napier City Rovers the Sky Blues won 3-0 in Napier and 2-1 at home. Much of this success is due to the hard core of very talented players who trained hard most of the summer to maintain the ever necessary fitness that wins matches. Be sure to support Gisborne City, as they defend last seasons unbeaten at home record, when they play their 1st home game V Karori Waterside on Sunday, 16th April, at the Childers Road Reserve.
