POLO CROSSE COLTS
NEW ZEALAND REPRESENTATIVES

Atahere Cameron & Maurice Kerekere have their Silver Fern as they will be playing Polo Crosse in Darwin in a 2 Test series against the Australian Colts. The 3 week trip will include a Demonstration Game.

VETERAN GAMES

The World Veteran Track & Field Champs will be held in Buffalo, New York, USA. A strong party of 16 Gisborne Athletes & supporters will join the New Zealand Team in Buffalo. Most of the athletes will compete in the U.S. Master's Games at the Michigan State University on July 5th as a build up to the World Games.

ALPHA 2000 SUNRISE COAST NETBALL SPONSORSHIP

Gisborne Milk Co-Op have directed $30,000 of $70,000 their Promotions Budget to sponsoring sport. Pov Bay, Wairoa & Ruatoria Unions ~ Sunrisre Coast ~ will benefit most from this generousity. Gis Milk Manager Harvey Johanson pointed out that 1 in 4 women in N Z maysuffer from osteoporosis & that Alpha 2000, high in calcium low in fat, a product well ahead of its competitors, was produced to combat these statistics.

TROOP LEADER

Tony Bartlett was in the Te Hapara Air Scouts as a lad. He became an Assistant Scout Leader in June 1975 at the age of 21. Tony was a worried Warneford Scout Leader in June 1995 when his more than 20 strong Troop comprising 3 strong Patrols didn't turn up to a scheduled meeting. A hour later a surprise party where the scouts, parents & committee had their own agenda.

MARAE RENOVATIONS

Gisborne Developments' carpentary students under tutor Bernie Rothschild are refurbishing a new shed from its shell to a fully functional whareroa at Te Kuri A Tuatai. It has more windows, is fully lined & insulated with a folding partition to allow dual useage. The students are completing units towards apprenticeship doing theory followed by practical work experience such as this.

The Pov Bay / East Coast Golf Team in Taupo for the 1995 Central North Island Golf Tournament. The Senior Team had an excellent win over highly favoured Taranaki giving PB/ EC equal 2nd.Vaashon Karaka was unbeaten in his 3 matches. The team Back, David Solomon, Anthony Pardoe, Hamish Douglas, John Craw, Robbie Rahn, Peter Goodwin, Dion Milner & Bill Donnelly. Middle, 'Spud' Murphy, Chris Taewa, Brent Colbert & Grant James. Front Adam Crawford, Vasashon Karaka & Alistair Higgins.
