WARBIRDS

TRAINING EQUIPMENT DONATION

Gisborne Citizens Advise Bureau have recently received an overhead projector & a video player presented by the Ten Talents Trust. The equipment will assist with publicity & training for the Citizens Advise Bureau volunteers.

ROYAL OPENING

The newest addition to the Ballance Street Village. Studio 147. was opened by HRH Queen Anne (of Village Cellars) accompanied by the Mayor of Ballance Street Village Nigel Campbell (Lord of Pharmacy 53) Studio 147 (The House of Elite Chic. Milly Molly & Bev Kirkland Colour Consultant) was appropriately opened on Queen's Birthday Weekend.

New Zealand's youngest member of the NZ Warbirds is 11 year old Ilminster pupil, Shane Seymour. Shane Joined when the Warbirds Rally visited Gisborne on Labour Weekend 1994. He visited the Warbirds Over Waikato meeting in Hamilton & enjoyed the benefits of his membership with several flights and this opportunity of a life time ... sitting in the cockpit of the Mk XV1 Spitfire owned by Tim Wallace.

OFF TO TONGA

Three Gisborne lads travelled to Tonga with the Hawkes Bay Youth Band on an 8 day music exchange the highlight being to play their music at the King of Tonga's Birthday celebrations.

POVERTY BAY JUNIOR GOLF REPRESENTATIVES

Some of Gisborne's Junior Golfers prior to their trip to Te Puke for the 1st of the new Inter Provincial Tournament instigated by the newly promoted North Harbour Assn. The Juniors are being exposed to a lot of tournament play with the aim to build match play confidence. Joel Ferris, Simon Jenkins (both) 1st time Reps & Jamie Ferris played well in the wet conditions that the team encounted at Te Puke.

SHIP'S BIRTHDAY

The Spirit of Adventure sailed into Gisborne on the last of her around N Z 21st Birthday Celebrations ..John Hill, from The Mill, presented a magnificent cake to the ship on behalf of the people of Gisborne. The Spirit of Adventure was presented to the youth of N Z by Sir Lou Fisher with the 1st official port of call being Gisborne. Port Contact for the Spirit of Adventure & the Spirit of N Z. Cynthia Dobson. felt it a fitting time to step down after 17 yrs of voluntary service.
