POVERTY BAY BOWLING CLUB 75th JUBILEE

In 1920 there were only two bowling clubs in Gisborne (the Kahutia and Gisborne Clubs) A group of bowlers felt that there was room for one more club and formed the Poverty Bay Club on the present site in Ormond Road. Starting with one green the club grew steadily adding, upgrading and replacing facilities as required. The recently installed Astrograss green is the most recent achievement allowing the club to play a winter season. At a gathering of present & past members there was an abundance of reminiscing.
