BLACK ON TRACK

Eleven All Blacks arrived in Gisborne as part of the Coca-Cola Convoy touring the country raising funds for the Variety Club, a charity to help benefit the children of NZ. It was also a way of promoting the members of the All Black squad who will contest the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa later this year. 100s of children and their parents took advantage of the cream of the country's sportsmen on display at Rugby Park and the chance to get autographs and see them in action against local celebrities.

Its a long way up to the top of Ian Jones' cap for these fans who had completed his 5 days on tour with the Convoy. He said it was fairly tiring with training & entertaining, but all worthwhile & a good public relations exercise.

Last line of defence and the only female on the field was Tina Karaitiana, although Trevor Mullooly (red) is racing in to help. All Black Jonah Lomu (left), Doug Walsh (blue), All Black Ian Jones and Vaughan Wilson seem pretty casual about the whole thing.
