CALTEX JUNIOR INTER-PROVINCIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
FOR THE BOOTH SHIELD.

In 1961, Nan and the late Jim Booth established the Booth Shield, to be played between provinces in a 54 hole net tournament by golfers under 25years of age. In Poverty Bay Golf Club's Centennial year, over 100 talented young golfers took to the PB course over Labour Weekend with the Hawkes Bay team winning for the 5th time in 6 years. PB/EC finished 5th overall and on these two pages are some of the locals in action.
