Conservation in Action
Matawhero Lagoon Wildlife Management Reserve

McDonald's Family Restaurant & the Dept of Conservation have a 10 year plan which includes the planting of native plants. This year 500 plants were planted by 120 children from 5 schools

"... in a place near wetland which will attract bird life..."

Miss Emily Ledger, a member of the Forest & Bird Society, gathered a selection of natives which were put into a crate so that each group of children gained a wide planting experience from the exercise.
