Lions from District 202B were hosts to Japanese students who arrived in Gisborne for 2 weeks as part of a 6 week visit to NZ. 17 students were to stay in the Ruatoria area and 4 were to be stay in Gisborne. Mayor John Clarke welcomed the students to Gisborne before they were dispersed among the many host families that travelled from Ruatoria to welcome them to their homes.
