Wheels'n Water

The 1st Wheels'n Water Day was held at the Marina Park. It was promoted by 89FM and the Sunfun Co as a family affair featuring anything that has wheels or that goes in the water.

Brent Emerson on his jet ski demonstrated the versatility and fun of this remarkable machine.

The Gisborne Rowing Club participated by providing some unusual races. The Lytton Boys coxed sculling had twice as many oars as the Girls High coxed 4 and this seemed to be an advantage as the two crews stroked down the river.

The Gisborne Girls High senior crew's bow coxed boat. The coxwain was Amy Malcolm with Rachel Carmichael, Susan Osler, Amy Richardson and Abbie Benson.

People in little boats designed for bumping into each other cast a wary eye for the rescue IRB as they have fun towing a scurfer In their immediate area.

At the end of the line of brightly shining restored motorcycles stood this gem from the past. A 1954 Ariel square 4 1000 owned by Peter Buckthought.
