85 wooden toys made by members of the Gisborne Woodturners Group were given to the Salvation Army for distribution at Christmas. Pictured with some of the 8 varieties of models are Don Lees, Captain Frank Milne and Ted Leete. Materials were donated by Benchmark, Carter Holts and Richardsons Mill.

Passengers disenbarking is a rare sight at the Gisborne Railway Station especially so when the train is the Silver Fern which made a special trip to Gisborne.
