Community Contributes to Foodbank

The Eastland Sun 89 FM Winter Cheer Appeal collected food parcels donated by the people of Gisborne. More than 200 people volunteered their time, 30 businesses supplied cars, vans, plastic bags etc. to assist in the collection which was taken to the Salvation Army Citadel to be sorted, before distribution to needy families in Gisborne.

Enthusiastic helpers from the Mangapapa Scouts gathered together outside the Salvation Army Citadel after performing their good deed for the day.

The Foodbank, centralised at the Salvation Army Citadel, is an ongoing project supported by many churches and community orientated organisations.
