Thank you everyone for the wonderful response to the first issue of the new Gisborne Photo News. The nostalgic "love affair" the people of Gisborne have with this magazine was evident as the first copies hit the streets. The students who will visit our sister city, Nonoichi, later this year (pictured right) set the scene, selling with plenty of enthusiasm and we delighted in the positive feedback from all sections of the community.

There were errors and omissions but hopefully what was printed made up for them, recalling an interesting moment and bringing a smile to the reader.

We are grateful to the advertisers for sharing the idea, Stephen Jones for his photographic wisdom, all those who have informed us of events, those who contributed photographs and of course, to everyone who purchased a copy and provided us with the encouragement and incentive to continue.

It's been a sunny, exciting month in Gisborne. We hope the Photo News has played a part in the good feeling abundant in the region.
