Past & Present

The photo taken in 1896 of the Kaiti Freezing Works features; a treeless Kaiti Hill with the beginnings of erosion, regulation free chimney discharge, sailing ships, barrels of produce, horses and wagons, wool bales, gentlemen with hats, ladies with sun umbrellas and children fishing off the wharf. Now we have trees on the hill, the latest crop of buildings and the children still fish off the wharf.
