Racing the Clock
The Gisborne Car Club held a hill climb on Lake Road, Patutahi, recently. Some very fast driving was seen, with the record for the fastest time of the day being broken several times.
Ian Pilbrow (Triumph Vitesse) was runner-up with a time of 1min 3.73secs.
Trevor Barker (modified Cortina) was the eventual winner with a new record time of lmin 3.6 secs. (Pix by Richard Fletcher).
This Cortina 2000 GT, driven by Dennis Willson, also broke the record
Robbie Booth's Steampipe Special, driven hero by Ian Gillingham, blew it halfway up the hill
