Mace Presented

Room On The Farm?

×

A past Chief Orphan of the Gisborne Orphans Club, Mr Keith Stichbury, is shown holding the mace presented to the club by members of the Jonasen family as a memorial to the late Wally Jonasen. Mr Jonasen was an idefatigable member of the club and held the office of chief orphan in 1962. The two picture frames contain the photos of all the club's chiefs, from 1955 Inaugural Chief Dick Moloney, to 1973 chief Peter Wooller.

Unfsortunately our issue of last month was short of space and we had to hold over this picture of the Gisborne Sheepfarmers' senior marching team. Worth waiting for though, eh! The picture was taken before the girls put on a marching display at the Manutuke School carnival. From left, in front, Gillian Lee, Ayling Louie, Margaret Carter, Sandra Dick and Robyn Smith. At back: Tina Carter, Margaret Cooper, Ngaire Wallen, Julie McKenzie, Denise Wallen and Adine Fox.
