Graduation Night
One general, seven community, and one midwifery student graduated at the Cook Hospital graduation ceremony, held this year in Low's Reception Rooms. Two nurses received their Endorsement Programme certificates.
The community nurses who graduated are seen with the Florence Nightingale Lamp and are, from left, Fiona Curtis, Robyn Gordon, Lydia Ngaronoa, Margaret Ogilvy, Rawinia Poi, Mere Sadlier and Lovey Pahau. Absent: Gail Fairbrother.
With the guest speaker, Miss F. F. Duff, are midwifery graduate Hazel Clare (left) and general graduate Cynthia Malone.
Prize-winners for the year were Nurse J. Lysnar (Hall Cup for general efficiency, 2nd year nurse), Community Nurse K. Dods (Laing Trophy for care and understanding of the aged), and Nurse B. Ashdown (Miles Cup for consistent progress during training).
Nurses J. Cudd and A. Casey gained their Endorsement Programme certificates.
