Record Smashed

The New Zealand record for the 11" underhand puketea chop was broken by axeman Doug Herbison on April 7 at the Y.M.C.A. An evening of family entertainment was organised by the Y.M. and this included chopping, shearing, the Te Karaka Brass, and the Simmonds Acrobatic Troupe from Napier. A large crowd was present to witness axeman's Herbison's record breaking feat.
