Pictured on holiday in London are Mrs L. West (right) and her daughter Leah of 32 Huxley Road. Taken in the famous Petticoat Lane the picture shows the travellers with two of the locals, an organ grinder's monkeys, by name "Bumma" and "Opo".

After seven years' service with the I. H. C. Kahutia School in Bright Street, teacher-in-charge Eric Churton has resigned from the position. A farewell presentation of an electric clock was made to Mr Churton on behalf of the school committee and the children of the school, by school committee chairman Ray Porter. At right is assistant teacher, Mrs Olwen Sweeny.

Celebrating her 80th birthday is Mrs M. Dunn. She was joined for the happy occasion by her son Dick of Hamilton, daughter-in-law Kate, and their family which is from left, at back, Sharon, Coral, Gwynne, Julian (centre), Jackie (held by Dad), Kim and Maria. Mrs Dunn and her late husband lived at Wharekaka, near Tolaga Bay, where they had a farm for many years. Mrs Dunn now lives in Mangapapa Road
